Cry me a River - 2023
Cry Me a River is a research project developed with Stefanie Alf in Berlin, investigating crying as a physical, social, and performative act. Through choreography, text, sound, and performative situations, the project explores different reasons for crying and the ways emotion can be embodied, represented, and shared. Starting from autobiographical material and a growing archive of “100 reasons to cry,” the research moves between intimate experiences and collective imagination, addressing personal memory, migration, vulnerability, and social conditioning. The project questions how crying can become movement, rhythm, sound, image, and a relation between bodies in space.
